BEIGNER Vineyards
Château LE CHRISLY  
& Château PECANY
At the heart of Monbazillac appellation, the Beigner family produces wines of quality since 5 generations and developed sales in bottles since 1945.  Their estates produce a huge range of wines (red and white) of AOC quality (first French AOC in 1936). Located in the bigger area of sweet wines in the world, sweet wines are representing the flagship. Vineyard is extended on 30 Ha and producing AOC Monbazillac and Bergerac (red and White). Château Le Chrisly vineyard is established on hillsides of Pomport. Clos La Selmonie is located on plateau of Rouffignac de Sigoulès. Both are separated by a valley.
Muscadelle and for red wines are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec. Vineyards are cultivated in traditional way and old density have been kept (distance between rows is 1,8 m). 
Wine is a family business, as in 2012 Château Pécany has been acquired by Benoît Beigner, engineer-enologist and representing the new generation.  
Varieties used for white wines are Sémillon, Sauvignon White and Pink, Château Pécany is an historic estate surrounding castle built by De Courssou family in 1780 on the foundations of an older structure that probably dates to the 16th century. Jean Siegler (second cousin to the De Courssou family) bought the property in 1926, and over time, enlarged the vineyard by buying surrounding land and plantation rights. The Pécany wine was first offered for commercial sale during this time. With excellent soil and environment, this vineyard developed a reputation from producing some of the best wines of the region. Château Pécany was poured on the best restaurant. 
In 2012, vines all in one piece have been converted in organic production and vineyard renovation and restructuration started.  
Located in rolling surroundings very peaceful, Château Pécany favour biodiversity (organic viticulture and beekeeping merge).  
Enhanced by experiences in best estates in France (Château LafiteRothschid, Château Latour, Château Doisy-Daëne, Château Haut-Bailly…), by experiences with best experts and by international experiences, Benoît Beigner projects to raise again this estate on the top.

Article published in Revue des Vins de France, number of June 2013 “Special vintage 2012”.  Benoît Beigner is also known for his expertise in China, where he is participating at different projects in wine industry (Château Bacchus, 5th Grand Cru Classé, Château Jinsha Yalan…)
